Staff

At Grogan Funeral Home & Crematory, we know that when a family experiences a loss, there are many decisions to be made. At our funeral home, we have a full staff of experienced funeral service professionals who are fully equipped to present all the information needed for a family to make informed, comfortable decisions. From the time the first phone call is received, throughout the service and beyond, each of our staff contributes in an important way. 

 Ryan Avison

Ryan AvisonFuneral Director

Ryan began working with the staff at Grogan Funeral Home in 2008. 

Ryan attended the University of Montana and Salish Kootenai College in Pablo, MT, where he received a degree in psychology in 2003. Ryan and his family opened a restaurant that same year, which is still going strong today. In 2011, Ryan graduated from Mount Hood Community College with a degree in Funeral Service. After graduation, Ryan and Tasha moved to Miles City where Ryan worked for Stevenson and Sons, but Polson was home so they moved back in January, 2012 to work at Grogan Funeral Home. 

Ryan married Tasha Conrad in Las Vegas in 2010. Ryan has two boys, Christian and Declan. Ryan and Tasha attend Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Polson, and Ryan is involved with the Jacobsen’s Syndrome group (11qusa.org), a cause close to his heart as his oldest son has this syndrome. Ryan likes to golf, spend time with his boys, and travel with his wife.

Ryan is a member of the Montana Funeral Directors Association and of the National Funeral Directors Association.


 Fred Nelson

Fred NelsonFuneral Director

Fred Nelson has been in and around funeral service for over 40 years. He graduated from San Francisco College of Mortuary Science and was licensed in Idaho in 1966, and in Montana in 1975.

Fred is a member of the Washington Cemetery and Funeral Association, Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ronan, and a member of the Ronan Chamber of Commerce. 

Fred and his wife Sherry have two grown daughters and three grandsons.

Fred is a member of the Montana Funeral Directors Association and of the National Funeral Directors Association.


 Kim Congdon

Kim CongdonOffice Assistant and Pre-planning Specialist

Kim began working with the staff at the funeral home in 2011.

Kim was born in Glendive, MT and graduated from Dawson County High School. Kim earned her AA degree from Dawson Community College in Glendive and went on to graduate from MSU-Billings with a degree in Business. She married Rob in 1992 and they have two children, Hayden and Marlee. Kim and her family moved from Billings to Polson in 2004. 

Kim has volunteered over the years coaching soccer, softball, and basketball and spent 3 years on the baseball board. Kim loves spending time with her family and most of all, enjoys watching her children's sporting events.
